Mathira Member of Parliament Eric Wamumbi has dismissed his Constituency Manager, Daniel Kariru Kanyua, a day after voting in favor of the impeachment motion against Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. This move marks a significant shift in Wamumbi’s office, as he also terminated the employment of other allies of Gachagua working in his constituency office.

The termination letter, which has been circulating online, cites a violation of employment contract regulations as the reason for Kanyua’s dismissal. The letter, effective November 2024, refers to section 5(1) of the employment contract.

In a statement posted on his Facebook page, Kanyua confirmed the authenticity of the termination letter, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve as Mathira Constituency Manager. He acknowledged the support he received from Gachagua during his appointment following the 2022 elections and stated, “I never thought that refusing to join a cabal meant to demean the person who recommended me to the position I held would bring about my crucifixion.”
