Mathira MP Eric Wamumbi has formally requested an investigation by the Director of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Mohammed Amin, into activities at the Olive Garden Hotel in Westlands, previously owned by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
In a letter shared with the media, Wamumbi alleges that the hotel is the site of meetings aimed at planning abductions, with the intent of undermining the Kenya Kwanza government.
“I have today reached out to the DCI, providing them with information regarding ongoing abductions in this country. I have reason to believe that meetings are being held at the hotel where youths are feigning abductions, orchestrated by Gachagua himself. I urge the authorities to intervene and ensure these youths are released,” Wamumbi stated during a press briefing at his office.
Wamumbi emphasized that the Kenya Kwanza government is not involved in these abductions, labeling Gachagua and his associates, including former Nyeri MP, as “drama queens” intent on damaging the reputation of President William Ruto’s administration.
Additionally, Wamumbi urged Gachagua to cease his criticisms of Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja, who he noted is a neighbor in Wamunyoro village.
“Gachagua should refrain from attacking Kanja. He is a dedicated professional committed to maintaining law and order. It’s time he stopped this pattern of targeting individuals from his own community,” Wamumbi concluded.
