Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi has described former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua as a “slow-punctured politician” who is “going nowhere.”
In a statement made on Monday, February 10, 2025, Ngunyi criticized Gachagua’s recent announcement regarding the Mount Kenya region’s withdrawal of support for President William Ruto’s re-election bid in 2027. He labeled the announcement a “total failure.”
“Gachagua is a slow-punctured politician. He is going nowhere. Those who know, know. And they know, as Kibaki would tell us. His Sunday announcement was a total failure. Politicians know when a failure is amongst them. They are not stupid,” Ngunyi posted on X.
Gachagua made headlines during an interview at his Wamunyoro home on Sunday evening, asserting that his comments reflected the evolving political landscape of the influential Mt. Kenya region. As the political climate shifts, analysts and politicians alike are closely watching the developments in this key area.
