Wanyaga Gathaka, the immediate former Chairman of the Tana Water Works Development Agency (TWWDA), is urging sitting MPs to initiate impeachment proceedings against President William Ruto without delay.
Gathaka expressed concern that since the impeachment of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, the country has been heading in the wrong direction, necessitating urgent action to remove Ruto from office.
He cited a rise in abduction cases, numerous deaths linked to the failing SHA system, the issuance of IDs to illegal immigrants, and the impeachment of Gachagua as compelling reasons to send President Ruto back to Sugoi.
Aspiring for the Nyeri Town Parliamentary seat, Wanyaga warned that if the current Parliament fails to act, they will face voter backlash in the 2027 elections. He pledged that if elected, his first motion would be to impeach the President.
Additionally, Wanyaga criticized Ruto’s administration for the skyrocketing cost of living, which he described as unbearable for many Kenyans.
