The cortage will leave Mathari Hospital Mortuary on Tuesday next week for burial at Kihara’s farm in Kamiruri village, Kieni constituency, Nyeri County.

Kihara breathed his last at Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital, leaving behind a legacy that resonates deeply within the hearts of many.

Kihara’s journey began in 2003 when he took the helm of the news department at Inooro FM, a station that would become a cornerstone of Kikuyu broadcasting. His deep, captivating voice became a signature that listeners eagerly tuned in for, introduced by his memorable phrase, **“nî Inooro Hwa-ini Niî njîtagwo Kihara Wa Gathua. For 15 years, he shaped the station’s news landscape, informing and engaging his audience with integrity and passion.

In 2018, Kihara ventured into new territory by founding Iganjo FM owned by Kirinyaga businessman Andrew Ngirichi. He continued to innovate and inspire, launching Gichichio FM linked to Murang’a politician Mwangi Wa Iria, and later Kayu FM.

His entrepreneurial spirit was matched only by his dedication to the craft, illustrating his unwavering commitment to serving the community through the media.
