Police in Lamu West are investigating a tragic incident in Mokowe where a General Service Unit (GSU) constable allegedly shot and killed his lover who is a school teacher and her daughter before taking his own life.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 am on Sunday. Neighbors reported hearing four gunshots and alerted police, who forced entry into the house and discovered three deceased individuals.
The teacher, identified as Sheila Mukoya, sustained two gunshot wounds. Her daughter was killed by a single bullet, while the GSU officer died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Sources indicate the officer and the teacher were in a relationship and had reportedly argued the previous night.
The bodies have been transported to the Mpeketoni Sub-County Hospital morgue. Investigations are ongoing.
