In a bold declaration of loyalty, Kieni MP Njoroge Wainaina Chieni has reaffirmed his commitment to President William Ruto’s government, emphasizing the importance of continued support for development initiatives in his constituency.
Speaking at the launch of an affordable education feeding program in Naromoru, Chieni expressed his determination to stand by Ruto, likening the President to a dairy cow that provides essential resources for the community.
“I am not leaving President Ruto’s camp!” Chieni declared, drawing a vivid analogy between a dairy cow and Ruto, while contrasting it with a bull representing former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
“The dairy cow we have currently is President William Ruto, and that’s where we can get roads, water projects, and schools,” he stated, underscoring the necessity of supporting the current administration to secure vital development projects for the residents of Kieni.
Chieni challenged the audience with a rhetorical question: “If you are told to milk, and you have kids, there is a bull and a dairy cow, would you go milking a bull? Can you?” This pointed analogy resonated with the crowd, as he urged them to recognize the importance of aligning with a government that can deliver tangible benefits.
The MP also reflected on past criticisms directed at former President Uhuru Kenyatta, warning that disrespecting leaders could lead to negative consequences for the region.
“In 2020, 2021, and 2022, we the people of Mt Kenya shouted at President Uhuru Kenyatta, humiliating him and disrespecting him,” Chieni recounted.
He noted that this behavior caused Kenyatta to shift his focus away from Mt Kenya, resulting in development projects being redirected to other regions.
Chieni cautioned the people of Kieni against repeating past mistakes, urging them to welcome Ruto with respect.
“When I will bring President William Ruto to this area, if you know you will come to shout, don’t come to the meeting. Stay at home,” he warned.
He emphasized that any outbursts could jeopardize future development projects, stating, “If we shout at Ruto the way we shouted at Uhuru, all development projects will be taken elsewhere.”
Chieni reiterated the importance of collaboration with the government to secure necessary resources for the community, urging constituents to focus on constructive dialogue and support for President Ruto’s initiatives.
