This celebration comes on the heels of Kenyatta’s recent reemergence after months of speculation regarding his health.

The retired president resurfaced on Thursday, dispelling rumors of illness. In a post on X, Kanze Dena, spokesperson for the Office of the Fourth President, announced that Uhuru had arrived in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, to participate in the 15th High-Level Retreat aimed at promoting peace and stability across the African continent.
