Nyeri Water and Sanitation Company (Nyewasco), recognized as the best water service provider in Sub-Saharan Africa, held a Town Clean-Up Exercise in collaboration with the County Government of Nyeri and the Nyeri Municipality. This event was part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, aimed at fostering a cleaner and healthier environment for the Nyeri community.
During the clean-up, Nyewasco also planted 530 Hass avocado seedlings at the Kangemi Sewer Treatment Plant. This effort highlights the company’s dedication to environmental conservation and sustainability, while also enhancing food security in the area.
The event was attended by Nyewasco Board members, led by Chair CPA Gathogo Mwangi. Key partners included Kiganjo Police College, ICPAK Mt. Kenya Branch, Consolidated Bank, Equity Bank, the Department of Water, Irrigation, Environment & Climate Change – Nyeri, and Tana Water Works Development Agency.
Nyewasco expressed gratitude to all participants and supporters of the initiative, emphasizing the collective effort to create a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future for the community.
