In a significant political engagement, former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua met with Nyeri County’s nominated Member of County Assembly (MCA), Anita Thumbi, earlier today at his residence in Wamunyoro.
Gachagua took to his Facebook page to share details of the meeting, describing it as a courtesy visit. He highlighted Thumbi’s experience and her insights on current national politics.
“Anita, who is a nominated MCA of the Nyeri County Assembly and an experienced leader within Nyeri County, shared her views on the national politics of the day, and her opinion of the options ahead for our region and the community,” He posted
He expressed admiration for Thumbi’s clarity of thought and her understanding of both local and national issues.
“I wish her all the best as she continues to engage the people of Nyeri County,” Gachagua added.
Following the meeting, Thumbi also took to social media to express her appreciation for the opportunity to engage with Gachagua.
“I am deeply honored to have met Rigathi Gachagua over breakfast at his rural home in Wamunyoro. Gachagua has stood in the true spirit of the people of Nyeri, the Mau Mau, and stood firm in solidarity with the common mwananchi,” Anita posted.
Thumbi noted that the discussions delved into a myriad of issues concerning Nyeri County, the larger region, and the nation as a whole. She emphasized Gachagua’s commitment to mentoring emerging leaders.
“He is keen on mentoring a fresh crop of leaders, and I stand to be counted among those willing to learn from his pot of wisdom,” she added.
