The community is grappling with profound sorrow following the untimely passing of 29-year-old Fiona Pete Ndikwe, a dedicated paediatric nurse at Mwai Kibaki Hospital Othaya.
Fiona succumbed to her injuries yesterday while receiving treatment at a Nairobi hospital after a horrific road accident in the Wanjii area along the Murang’a – Nairobi road.
The accident, which occurred on January 6, 2025, claimed three lives on the spot and involved two matatus.

Fiona’s tragic fate has left her family, friends, and colleagues in shock. Hailing from Nairobi, she was a devoted mother to a young boy, who now faces a future without the love and guidance of his mother.
Colleagues at Mwai Kibaki Hospital have expressed their deep sorrow, remembering Fiona as an industrious nurse with an unwavering passion for her profession.
“She was not just a colleague; she was a beacon of hope for many children and their families. Her dedication to service was unmatched,” said one of her co-workers, tears in her eyes.
As the hospital community mourns the loss of a cherished member, arrangements for Fiona’s burial have begun. Family and friends are working tirelessly to honor her memory, and the community is invited to join in supporting them during this difficult time.
Fiona Ndikwe’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched through her compassionate care and unwavering commitment to her vocation.
