Gatanga MP Edward Muriu has shared a scathing assessment of President William Ruto’s administration, citing comments made by former President Uhuru Kenyatta following a recent meeting. Muriu, in a post that has sparked considerable discussion, highlighted several allegations directed at Ruto, as articulated by Kenyatta.
Among the grievances listed are a lack of accountability and transparency, with Muriu pointing to the Adani scandal as a key example of the current administration’s failure to be accountable to the public. He also accused Ruto’s government of abductions and intimidation aimed at individuals who hold opposing views.
Additionally, Muriu criticized the administration for what he termed over-taxation, specifically referencing issues related to the SHIF, housing, and NSSF. Another significant concern raised was the delayed establishment of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), which Muriu believes undermines electoral integrity.
Furthermore, he contended that Ruto has failed to deliver on various commitments, including infrastructure projects related to Mau Mau roads and financial guarantees for agricultural products like coffee, milk, tea, macadamia, and avocado.
In a notable contradiction, Muriu remarked that according to Kenyatta’s perspective, there were no issues with the impeachment of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, calling the situation a “shame.” The post has ignited debate among political analysts and the public, raising questions about accountability and governance in the current administration.
